Italy has paid tribut to Sheikha Mozah bint Marwan Al Maktoum, the first member of the United Emirates' royal family to fly as a qualified commercial pilot and to serve as First Lieutenant Pilot of Dubai Police.
"Kudos to H.H. Capt. Sheika Mozah al-Maktoum for her amazing achievements in the sky and on earth," the Italian embassy tweeted on Tuesday.
"An inspirational model of ambition and commitment for women and girls in the UAE and the world," the tweet added.
Maktoum took part in an event on Tuesday entitled "The Flying Society", hosted by Italy's Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and organised by the Italy-headquartered global aerospace and defence company Leonardo.
