New envoy to the Philippines, Marco Clemente, wants to draw on Italy's "deep bonds of friendship" with the southeast Asian country to bolster bilateral relations, the foreign ministry tweeted on Thursday.
"I am very proud to take up my post today as new ambassador and am committed to further strengthening relations between Italy and a country with which we already share deep bonds of friendship," Clemente stated in the tweet.
