A 55-year-old Romanian died after he was electrocuted Tuesday trying to steal copper wires from a telephone exchange on the outskirts of Italy's northern city of Turin.
Costantin Cretu's 23-year-old son called emergency services but he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Cretu's son was reported to police for attempted copper theft.
Before calling emergency services, he had allegedly tried to remove his father's body and even asked local residents for help.
Police believe Cretu may have thought the power was switched off at the telephone exchange.
