Italy's interior minister and deputy premier Matteo Salvini will pay an official two-day visit Israel next week and will meet prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, the interior ministry said on Friday.
Salvini will hold talks with Netanyahu at the prime minister's office on Wednesday and the two politicians will make statements to the press ahead of the their meeting, the interior ministry statement said.
On the first day of his trip, Salvini will on Tuesday visit Israel's Yad Vashem World Holocaust and Remembrance Centre and including its museum and Children's Memorial, the statement said.
Salvini is due later on Tuesday to meet members of the Italian community in Jerusalem, visit the Italian synagogue and the Italian-Jewish art museum and give a press briefing, according to the statement.
