A rich calendar of events is underway in Israel on 700th anniversary of the death of Italy's greatest poet, Dante, and the programme kicked off with a webinar on the first Hebrew edition of Giovanni Boccaccio's 'Tratello in laude Di Dante', the foreign ministry said in a statement on Friday.
From literature to cinema and from music to dance, the Italian embassy and the Italian Cultural Institutes of Tel Aviv and Haifa are organising numerous initiatives aimed at sharing with the Israeli public the immense artistic, cultural and linguistic contribution of the Supreme Poet.
Dante and contemporary Italian literature will be the focus of an encounter in May with Italian writer Domenico Starnone, a remote guest of the prestigious Jerusalem Writers' Festival, according to the statement.
