November 30, 2024_ Starting from the end of January 2025, HIV self-test kits will be available at selected Guardian and Watsons pharmacies in Singapore. The ‘OraQuick HIV’ device allows you to detect HIV antibodies at home in just 20 minutes, aiming to make testing easier and encourage regular check-ups. In 2023, 209 new HIV cases were diagnosed in Singapore, bringing the total to 9,540 cases. The Singapore government is working towards the UNAIDS 95-95-95 target for HIV management, as reported by Tamil Murasu. The kits will also be sold online at a price of $21.85, helping to improve access to testing for the population.
