November 30, 2024_ Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the fight against HIV/AIDS on World AIDS Day, set for December 1, 2024. Under the theme “Rights are the way to end AIDS,” the government has set three key goals: reducing new infections, reducing the number of deaths, and ensuring there is no discrimination against people with HIV. Cambodia has already achieved a 98% coverage rate for antiretroviral treatment, the highest in the Asia-Pacific region, and has seen a decline in new HIV cases. The news was reported by thmeythmey.com. The government called on national authorities to continue implementing effective policies to fight HIV/AIDS and ensure prevention and treatment services for all.
