Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves will present to the House of Commons today the forecast budget with a record tax increase, the largest in British history, the Guardian writes. Reeves promises "more pounds in the pockets of Britons, a National Health Service that is there when you need it, a growing economy that creates wealth and opportunity for all." "The only way to create economic growth is to invest, invest, invest," she said. "There are no shortcuts. To have this investment, we need to restore economic stability." This is a budget "that rejects austerity," to make way "for economic stability, investment and reforms."
