"The West has given full support to Israel, while from Muslim countries there has been an inadequate response" to the Gaza crisis, "so much so that we have reached the point where we are now". Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this while speaking at the summit of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) underway in Riyadh. "Turkey - Erdogan recalled - has so far sent over 84,000 tons of aid to Gaza and is ready to send much more when the restrictions are lifted". But "Israel cannot even tolerate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza and has kept aid supplies waiting in Egypt for months," the Turkish president said.
"We should encourage as many countries as possible to intervene in the case brought by South Africa against Israel to the International Court of Justice," added President Erdogan.
