Italy has gifted 500,000 euros of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear risk equipment to the Lebanese Armed Forces, part of which can be used to contain COVID-19, the Italian embassy tweeted on Friday.
"Ambassador (Nicoletta) Bombardiere stressed the value of bilateral cooperation between armed forces combining training with equipment and enhancing capacities to protect people’s safety and security," read the tweet.
The equipment includes "digital anemometers, SCBA rebreathers, decontamination systems, test accessories for closed circuit breathing apparatus," read a second tweet.
"Part of the equipment can be used within COVID-19 containment activity," the tweet added.
