November 14, 2024_ South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has begun an eight-day trip to attend the APEC and G20 summits in Peru and Brazil. During these meetings, Yoon plans to emphasize the importance of international solidarity in the face of North Korea-Russia military cooperation, and promote South Korea's responsible diplomacy as a global focal state. Yoon is expected to meet with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and attend a trilateral summit with U.S. President Joe Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, The Korea Times reported. The trip marks Yoon's first visit to a Central or South American country since taking office in May.
