The bad times in life should never shake our belief in God's love and his unwavering support, Pope Francis told Catholics on Tuesday.
"When we are feeling sad, when it feels like everything is going wrong, we should remember: 'God loves me. God never abandons me'," Francis tweeted.
The tweet came after a magnitude 4.0 earthquake killed at least two people, injured 39 and left 2,600 homeless on the resort island of Ischia off Naples late on Monday.
Francis' nine-language @pontifex account on Twitter now has 37 million followers, a Vatican-tracking website reported this week.
